Paul Walker's Remains Released to Family After Autopsy: Report

Paul Walker may soon be able to rest in peace. Ten days after the actor died in a car crash at age 40, his remains have finally been released to his family, TMZ reports.

According to the site, Walker's remains were removed from the L.A. County Coroner's Office on Monday, Dec. 9, and transported to a local mortuary. Sources tell TMZ they're now with the late star's loved ones, who will decide how and when he'll be laid to rest.

As previously reported, the Fast & Furious actor was killed on Nov. 30, when the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT in which he was a passenger crashed into a lamp post and burst into flames. An autopsy completed earlier this month indicated that the cause of death was a combination of "traumatic and thermal injuries" from both the impact of the accident and the resulting fire.

The actor's friend Roger Rodas — believed to be the driver — was also killed in the crash; he died upon impact. Both deaths were ruled an accident by the medical examiner. See more stars we lost in 2013.
