Chelsea credits her relationship with Jo for changing her life forever. In her Instagram post addressing the breakup, she told fans that "being loved and adored by Jo Koy has been one of the greatest gifts" of her life. The couple also insisted that their breakup isn't an ending yet a beginning for the both of them. She emphasized that Jo's person is out there, but is the comedian ready to get back out on the dating scene?

Jo Koy is still single after breaking up with Chelsea Handler. The comedian has had a lot going on, career-wise, since announcing the split. His movie, Easter Sunday, premiered in July 2022, and his latest standup special, Jo Koy: Live From The Forum, dropped on Netflix in September 2022.​​​​​​​

Jo has been open when talking about where he and his ex, Chelsea Handler, stand. When speaking with Entertainment Tonight, he said the transition back into a friendship with Chelsea was going great. They had always been friends, so going back to being friends was easy for them.

It's no surprise Jo has been able to handle the split so amicably, as he has a beautiful relationship with his ex-wife and the mother of his son Angie King. During the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Angie invited Jo to live on the same property as she and their son so they could all be together.

He told Kelly Clarkson during an appearance on her talk show that he hopes to be an example for how his son handles his future relationships. By maintaining healthy and strong relationships with his exes, he can encourage his son to do the same thing. Kelly Clarkson, who pays her ex-husband $200,000 a month in spousal support, emphasized how much she appreciated Jo's healthy outlook on divorce and separation.

In a 2020 interview with Windy City LIVE, Jo explained how lucky he was to have the relationship he does with his ex. Talking about their divorce, he said it was hard initially but got easier over time. "The older we got, we understood that we're best friends, and this is the best thing we could have done for our kid. He's so happy because of it," said Jo.
