AEW Rampage Results (1/12/24): Eddie Kingston, Swerve Strickland, More

All Elite Wrestling delivered an action-packed show with the January 12 episode of AEW Rampage.

Tonight, Wheeler Yuta will challenge Eddie Kingston for the AEW Continental Crown Championship. Yuta, the reigning ROH Pure Champion, issued the challenge on AEW Dynamite.

Plus, Swerve Strickland will face Matt Sydal, and Hikaru Shida will battle Queen Aminata.

The results are as follows:

The opening match of the night saw Kingston retain his recently won Continental Crown Championship. Kingston did have to come back from a fair bit, however, as Yuta looked dominant from the very start. However, Kingston would eventually hit Yuta with a spinning backfist before hitting a northern lights bomb for the pin and win.

The trio spoke briefly about boosting Collision’s ratings, before The Hardys gave Briscoe a necklace.

Strickland made short work of Sydal here, coming out on top after getting hit with a series of moves early on. Strickland missed a stomp from the top rope but did hit a big JML Driver right after for the quick win.

Private Party essentially challenged Top Flight and Andretti to a match any place and any time they’d like.

Shida walked out on top after Aminata looked very strong to start. The pair would eventually go back and forth for a bit before Shida hit Aminata with a big knee strike and then followed it up with the Falcon Arrow and a Katana Kick for the pin and win.

Renee Paquette wished Soho a happy belated birthday, while Saraya showed her a video of Harley Cameron kissing Angelo Parker backstage. Parker then showed up, only for Soho to shove her cake in his face and storm off. Saraya then began gloating, and walked off to console Soho. When the footage of Parker’s “kiss” was played in full, Parker clearly didn’t want it.

Parker had to try and rally after being “caught” by Saraya, but he and his team didn’t have it tonight. Instead, it was the Dark Order who would come out on top, after Parker was hit with the Pendulum Bomb, Alex Reynolds was hit with the Hager Bomb by Jake Hager, and then Brodie Lee Jr. showed up to distract Hager by wearing his purple hat.

Hager snatched the hat back after a bit, but then got hit with a move by both Reynolds and John Silver for the win. After the match, Dark Order celebrated with Brodie Lee Jr. as the show went off the air.
